To chart the course over the next five years, South Shore Charter Public School developed a new strategic plan. Throughout the 2023-2024 school year the Strategic Planning Committee remained actively engaged in developing the plan for the next five years. Nine meetings were held throughout the 2023-2024 school year during which the committee members discussed institutional goals and the School’s mission, focus group protocols, best practices to obtain meaningful data,  compiling data from multiple stakeholders, as well as finally drafting multiple versions of the strategic plan.

The data from family members, students, faculty, and staff was collected and analyzed in conjunction with other sources such as student achievement data and stakeholder surveys. This comprehensive approach helped to create a better understanding of the School's current and future needs. The insights and key themes identified through these efforts were used to inform the goals and action steps of the strategic plan. 

The focus groups for strategic planning were designed with an understanding of their crucial role in gathering input and data to shape future plans at South Shore Charter. The School successfully completed 28 focus groups, which has given the school community a chance to share their ideas and become active participants in the institutional mission. The first eleven strategic planning focus groups were conducted and attended by faculty and staff on January 12, 2024. Utilizing the expertise of the faculty and staff, the Committee could analyze programs and student experiences that reflect the collective wisdom of our teachers, school administrators, and staff.
