Please call into the absent line when your child will be out of school. If out due to illness, please contact the appropriate school nurse and the nurse will let you know how long your child must remain out of school. 

The nurse may be asking more information about the nature of the absence. If your child is experiencing COVID symptoms or is COVID +,  please call/email the appropriate school nurse and discuss when it will be safe for your child to return to school. All student information will be kept confidential and only shared with appropriate administrators/staff. 

• Health Office Guidelines

All medications must be dropped off by a family member. Please email/call the appropriate Health Office to confirm the day to drop off.  No medication will be accepted unless it is dropped off by a family member with the doctor’s order.

All medications MUST be dropped off with doctor’s order or allergy/asthma action plan. The doctor’s order is only good for 1 school year. So a new form is needed for each school year. 

All medications MUST be in the original pharmacy container with the child’s name on it. 

• Prescription Drug Form

There will be no sharing of food or special parties this school year due to COVID 19. Please do not send in special treats for birthday parties or special events. 

The 100 Longwater Circle, Grades K-8, building is strictly NUT FREE.  This includes Peanuts and all Tree nuts. Please read labels carefully, this includes foods that say “MAY CONTAIN”. Some foods that include nuts are protein/granola/kind bars, Nutella, peanut butter crackers. 

• Nut Free Reminder

A current physical within the last 13 months must be sent in for all new students and students entering grades K, 4, 7 and 10th and all new SSCPS students. This includes a copy of a physical and immunization record. 

• MA School Immunization Guidelines

Please ensure your child has an extra change of clothes that is weather appropriate (shorts may be good now but will need pants as the weather gets cooler). 

Students will be going outside a lot this year, even in the winter months. Windows in classrooms will be kept open. Please make sure your student brings a jacket/sweatshirt as the weather cools and winter arrives. 

Students will be spending more time outside. Please apply sunscreen or bug spray before school, if necessary. School staff is unable to apply. 

COVID Positive/Exposure 

Please contact your school nurse if your student tests positive for COVID-19 to determine when your student can return to school.
